A Weekend of Stick-n-Puck

donrogersnew

This worked out great! I was able to attend the early session on Fri, Sat & Sun. We had about 20 players from the Never Ever group between the three sessions with some players attending 2-3 of the sessions. We got a lot accomplished!!! And, had FUN!

These Stick N Puck sessions will continue thru the end of Sept. Then, there will only be two sessions: Friday – 12:15 and 4pm. So, we need to determine who can make these and continue with our progress…..

Remaining Three Sessions:

Week 8: will be two sheets of ice. There will be a VERY Good ‘Chalk Talk’ starting @ 8:30! Then, some drills and Controlled Scrimmage on both sheets of ice. There will be no Refs.

Week 9: One sheet of ice with a ‘Controlled’ Game. Another good ‘Chalk Talk’ staring @ 8:30. Your coaches will be on the benches. I will control the ice. There will be no Ref.

BLUE – WHITE CUP game:

Week 10 (September 24th): Blue – White Cup game. The game will begin @ 8:30. We will have a 5 minute warm up, Player introductions, National Anthem, and play 3 – 20 minute periods. Stop Time during the last 5 minutes (if within two goals). Sudden Death Overtime if tied after regulation. All penalties will result in a Penalty Shot. We will have a Three-Man Officiating Crew. There will be NO chalk talk but, you should be in the locker room by 7:45.

GUEST PLAYERS:

We have enjoyed having Lisa, Shannon & Dominick join us for the past few sessions. I am inviting all of them for Session 8 (only) as we will have two sheets of ice. They will not be participating in Session 9 & 10 but, hope they will come and ‘cheer’ us on.

GOLDEN RULE # 6 - A WINNER takes a big problem and separates it into smaller parts so that it can be more easily maniupulated; a loser takes a lot of the little problems and rolls them together until they are unsolvable.

GOLDEN RULE # 5 - A WINNER makes every concession he can, short of sacrificing his basic principles; a loser is so afraid of making concessions that he hangs on to pride while his principles go down the drain.

GOLDEN RULE #4 - A WINNER knows when the price of winning comes too high; a loser is overly eager to win what he cannot handle or keep.

GOLDEN RULE #3 - A loser is envious of winners and contemptuous of other losers; a WINNER judges others only by how well they live up to their own capabilities, not by some external scale of worldly success.

GOLDEN RULE #2 - A WINNER goes through a problem; a loser goes around it and never gets past it.

GOLDEN RULE #1 - #1 - When a WINNER makes a mistake, he says “I was wrong”. When a loser makes a mistake, he says “It wasn’t my fault”.
