Defense
Aug/21/2007 09:52 AM
Also, I hope I didn’t ‘scare’ anyone out of playing Defense. All teams need them! Defense is the most difficult position in hockey. It requires: patience, discipline, quick thinker & pure determination. We are seeing the makings of some fine Defenseman!
Next week our Topic will be The Role of Forwards. We will once again only have one sheet of ice for next week. So, we will have some drills then, another scrimmage. Chalk Talk begins @ 7:15 (Chana, please don’t be late!)
Never Ever PARTY Again – SAT. August 25th
We will have close to 60 adults and about 10 children. It will be a great time for all! Stay for an hour or bring a tent – we don’t care how long it goes on!!! The food will be here around 5 or so.
We set the cost per Adult @ $10 (kids are free). There will be plenty of Food, Fun & Beverages along with games, music, poker, Hockey stuff and movies (Slap Shot, Miracle on Ice, etc). Also, we may have karaoke…….?
Any profit will be used toward Food at Bocce’s after the Blue – White Cup Game…
We cannot use the Church for parking thus, use my front yard or the old street behind my house (Old Taylorsville Rd.)
You only need to bring chairs.
DIRECTIONS: We are two miles east of the Gene Snyder on Taylorsville Road on the right side (14826). Go through the first light (Taylorsville Lake Road). When you pass Five O’Clock Charlies, we are the fourth house on the right – just before the Fisherville Baptist Church. We will help park you in the front yard OR go past our house about a quarter mile to the Post Office and turn right, then turn right again on Old Taylorsville Rd. Go past the (rear of) church again and park along the street behind my house and walk across the field.
BLUE – WHITE CUP GAME – Monday, September 24th:
Just to clear up any confusion, both Never Evers & Never Ever Agains will be combined into one Blue team and one White team. And, play for the Cup! Similar to our scrimmage yesterday. But, this will be treated like a Real (Stanley Cup) Game!
GOLDEN RULE #4:
A WINNER knows when the price of winning comes too high; a loser is overly eager to win what he cannot handle or keep.
GOLDEN RULE #3
A loser is envious of winners and contemptuous of other losers; a WINNER judges others only by how well they live up to their own capabilities, not by some external scale of worldly success.
GOLDEN RULE #2 - A WINNER goes through a problem; a loser goes around it and never gets past it.
GOLDEN RULE #1 - #1 - When a WINNER makes a mistake, he says “I was wrong”. When a loser makes a mistake, he says “It wasn’t my fault”.
